Clean Cleans – Terms & Service Conditions

By booking or engaging Clean Cleans, you acknowledge and agree to the following Terms & Service Conditions.
1. Scope of Services
Clean Cleans provides residential and light commercial cleaning services, including Routine Cleans, Exit Cleans, Reset Cleans, Oven Cleans, and related domestic and commercial cleaning services.
Our services are professional cleaning services only. We do not provide restoration, repair, remediation, maintenance, construction, or trade services unless explicitly agreed in writing.
Cleaning improves the condition and presentation of surfaces but does not restore surfaces to “as new” condition where permanent wear, staining, deterioration, or structural damage exists.
2. Time-Based & Condition-Based Services
Many Clean Cleans services are charged on an hourly or time-allocated basis.
Clients acknowledge that:
• Results are dependent on the time booked
• Heavily soiled or neglected areas may require additional time
• If time is insufficient, priority areas will be completed first
• Additional time may be recommended where necessary
Clean Cleans is not responsible for incomplete areas where insufficient time has been allocated.
3. Access & Safety
Clients must ensure:
• Safe and unobstructed access to the property
• Electricity and hot water are operational
• The environment is safe and free from hazards
• Pets are secured appropriately
• No aggressive behaviour from occupants
Clean Cleans reserves the right to cease work where conditions are unsafe, unsanitary beyond normal domestic cleaning standards, or where access is restricted.
A call-out or minimum fee may apply where access is not provided at the scheduled time.
4. Property Condition & Pre-Existing Damage
Clean Cleans is not liable for:
• Pre-existing damage
• Fair wear and tear
• Deterioration due to age
• Poor-quality paintwork
• Swollen or water-damaged cabinetry
• Loose or brittle silicone
• Rusted fixtures or fittings
• Flaking surfaces
• Aged grout discolouration
Normal cleaning may reveal underlying damage that was previously hidden by dirt or residue.
Where visible pre-existing damage is identified, it may be photographed for record purposes.
5. Oven Cleaning & Appliance Disclaimer
Oven cleaning sometimes requires the removal of doors, internal glass panels, and racks to allow for a thorough clean.
While we take the utmost care during this process, older ovens or ovens with pre-existing wear (including rusted hinges, brittle seals, weakened or heat-damaged glass) may be vulnerable to damage during removal or reinstallation.
By proceeding with an oven clean, you acknowledge:
• Clean Cleans is not liable for breakage due to pre-existing wear and tear
• We are not responsible for previously damaged hinges, seals, screws, or internal glass
• If components cannot be safely reassembled due to age or deterioration, we will advise immediately
• Any replacement parts required due to age-related failure are the responsibility of the homeowner
If we believe an oven is at high risk of damage, we reserve the right to decline disassembly and clean externally only.
6. Mould & Surface Cleaning Limitation
Clean Cleans removes visible surface mould only.
We are not a mould remediation or restoration company.
Clients acknowledge:
• Surface mould removal does not address structural or underlying moisture issues
• Recurrence of mould is not the responsibility of Clean Cleans
• Underfloor, ceiling cavity, or structural mould requires specialist remediation
Where mould poses a health or structural concern, we may recommend engaging a licensed remediation professional.
7. Exit Cleans & Bond-Back Guarantee
Clean Cleans offers a bond-back guarantee on the areas cleaned, subject to the following conditions:
• No time restrictions are placed on the cleaning
• Full access is provided
• The property remains vacant after the clean
• No additional trades or occupants enter the property after completion
• Concerns are raised within 5 days of the clean
• The issue relates specifically to cleaning, not fair wear and tear
The guarantee applies only to areas included within the agreed scope of work.
8. Results Disclaimer
Cleaning does not:
• Remove permanent staining
• Reverse etched glass
• Restore damaged grout
• Repair burn marks
• Remove ingrained rust
• Eliminate odours embedded within materials
• Guarantee stain removal from carpet or upholstery
We aim to achieve the best possible result within the scope of standard domestic cleaning.
9. Post-Clean Disturbance
Clean Cleans is not responsible for:
• Dust resettling after windows are opened
• Disturbance caused by trades or carpet cleaners
• Builders dust unless specifically quoted
• Insect activity or pest-related debris
Where a property sits vacant after cleaning, airborne dust may naturally resettle.
10. Payment Terms
Payment is due within 7 days of invoice unless otherwise agreed.
Late payments may incur reminder notices or collection processes where required.
Clean Cleans reserves the right to pause ongoing services where accounts remain unpaid.
11. Cancellations
A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required for cancellations or rescheduling.
Late cancellations may incur a cancellation fee equivalent to the minimum booking duration.
All bookings are subject to a minimum service duration of 1.5 hours unless otherwise agreed.
12. Contractor Structure
Clean Cleans engages trained contractors to deliver services under the Clean Cleans brand.
All services are covered by Clean Cleans’ public liability insurance for work completed under official bookings.
Any concerns must be directed to Clean Cleans directly.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted under New Zealand law, Clean Cleans’ liability is limited to the cost of the service provided.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from cleaning services performed in good faith.
14. Key Handling & Alarm Codes
Clients are responsible for providing correct access instructions, alarm codes, and keys. Clean Cleans is not liable for callout fees, locksmith charges, or security company fees resulting from incorrect or incomplete access information.
15. Valuables & Fragile Items
Clients are responsible for securing fragile, high-value, or sentimental items prior to service. While reasonable care is taken, Clean Cleans is not responsible for damage to unsecured fragile items.
16. Hoarding / Excessive Clutter
Clean Cleans reserves the right to decline or cease services in properties where clutter, hoarding conditions, or biohazards present safety or health risks.
17. Complaint Window
Any concerns must be raised within 5 days of service completion. Clean Cleans must be given the opportunity to rectify concerns before third parties are engaged.
18. Water Damage Clause
Clean Cleans is not responsible for water damage resulting from pre-existing plumbing issues, loose fittings, or deteriorated seals.
19. Induction & Glass Cooktop
Glass cooktops and induction surfaces may contain micro-fractures due to heat exposure. Clean Cleans is not liable for cracking where no excessive force has been applied.
20. Carpet & Upholstery Limitation
• No guarantee of stain removal
• No liability for wicking
By proceeding with booking, the client confirms they have read and accepted these Terms & Service Conditions.
